The first beach bar was founded in Sitges in 1913. The name comes from Cuba, where a beach bar was a way of consuming coffee on plantations: with a cane and a stocking, it was filtered through a jet or chiringo. For this reason, the expression ponme a chiringuito was frequent. This word was used by the “Amaricanus”.
